When selecting the new set of lever pad door handles made of upvc, it is crucial to make sure that they are in line with the PZ (distance between the spindle of the handle and the center of the hole in the cylinder) of your current multipoint door locks, as these need to be in line to ensure that the doors remain locked, whether from the inside or the outside. The handles we sell are designed to work with a variety of standard cylinder locks, but it is advisable to double-check before purchasing.
You will need to remove your handles that you have already installed and then dismantle the lock case if you're upgrading to dual spindle handle levers as this will require an additional split inline cylinder. After you have removed the screws that are holding the door handle you have, it is an ideal idea to loosen them, and then inspect the mechanism to see what condition it is in. If the screws aren't tight enough then you might need to loosen them even more. After that, you can take the spindle from the door handle and replace it with your new Upvc handle. Before putting the handle in position, it is a good idea to ensure that it is in the proper position, and you can do this by putting your finger into the gap between the door frame and the handle to make sure it is level.
Lever/Lever
Lever door handles function as a multi point lock using a Euro Cylinder and are found on the majority of double doors made of aluminium, upvc doors, and some wooden doors. They come in two forms, having an interior lever and a paddle outside. Sprung - They have an internal spring cassette within the backplate that helps to bring the handle lever into the horizontal position. Non-sprung - these do not include a spring mechanism and will need to be manually pulled to raise the handle lever to a horizontal position.
To fix the door handle of a lever that is sagging you must locate the detent access hole or pin, which is typically a small rectangle or round shaped hole or protruding pin that is located on the opposite side of the handle base plate. Once you have located the detent access hole or pin, you can remove it using a screwdriver.
Once the handle is in a horizontal orientation, you can re-install the screws and tighten them to make sure the handle stays fixed to the base plate. You may want to apply a threadlocking solution to the screw threads in order to increase grip and prevent them from loosening over time.
There are a variety of reasons why door handles of levers drop. The most common cause is that the fixings are too tight and the lever bearing to bind up against the door. It could also be because the levers are not being operated at a straight angle and this is causing compression of the latch mechanism and preventing it from fully springing back into service.
The most common reason for a sprung lever not working properly is the spring not being in the correct position on the backplate. To check whether the handle has returned to horizontal, simply move it.
It is crucial to repair any door handles that are damaged as soon as you can. This could lead to excessive wear on the screws, and the handle could fall off the base plate. You should also tighten any loose screws on a regular basis to stop them from becoming looser.

These handles made of upvc are called 'Snib handle sets' and have the snib lock button on the top of the lever. If you do not have a dummy locking device you can use this to lock the door.
